Privacy Policy

Archived ("we", "us") is a personal collection-management app that lets you photograph, catalog, and track the estimated value of your collectibles. This policy explains what information we handle and why. We keep it simple: we collect only what's needed to run the app, and we never sell your data.

Information we handle

• Account information — if you create an account, your email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your name and profile photo, as provided by Google.
• Your collection content — the collections and items you create, including item names, brands, notes, conditions, estimated values, and the photos you add.
• Guest data — if you use the app without an account, your collections are stored only in your own browser (local storage) and are not sent to us.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to run the app for you:

• To display your collection — the photos you add are stored and shown back to you as the image on each item's card, as the cover of a collection, and in the full-screen photo view. You can add up to several photos per item and choose which is the main one.
• To identify items you photograph and estimate their value.
• To sync your collection across your devices and with any collectors you invite.

How your information is stored and processed

To provide the app, your data is handled by these services:

• Google Firebase — accounts (authentication) and cloud storage of your collections and photos.
• Vercel — hosting of the application.
• AI identification — when you add an item, the photo and the collection category are sent to AI providers (Google Gemini and/or Groq) to identify the item. Those providers receive the photo solely to return that identification; the photo itself stays stored with your item, as described above, so it can be shown in the app.
• Marketplace pricing — the item's name and brand are sent to marketplace services (such as eBay) to look up a current estimated value. We do not send your photos to pricing services.

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy. We share only what is necessary for the feature you are using.

Shared collections

If you share a collection using an invite code, the people who join it ("collectors") can see the items and photos in that collection and the display name on your account. Only people you invite can access a shared collection.

What we don't do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not show third-party advertising.
• We do not use your photos for anything other than the features above.

Your choices

You can edit or delete individual items, delete entire collections, or stop using the app at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at the email below.

Security

Access to your cloud data is restricted by security rules so that only you (and collectors you invite) can read or change it. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children's privacy

Archived is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are under 18, please use the app with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
